Why Should I get a Facial?
For as far back as I can remember, I have been curious about the skin. I would always wonder WHY I would break out on my back, of all places, and not my face, as much. A good thing, right? But that wasn’t enough for me. I had to investigate further and find out why my back was so prone to breakouts.
It wasn’t long until after a few years and I was in my thirties when the breakouts started to appear on my FACE! Now, I was really concerned… So, I decided to seek help from a professional. I went to get a facial.
I didn’t just get a facial, but the whole works. I went all out… I got a sugar scrub on my body, a deep tissue massage, and finally a nice relaxing facial.
The Esthetician was so thorough, she examined my skin (skin assessment), told me my Skin Type (Dry), and began to explain why I was breaking out in my Thirties. She said I was suffering from Adult Acne, but I had a mild case. This was due to my hormone changes, and from me using the wrong products for my skin type. Who knew back then!
Now, as an Esthetician and Makeup Artist, I cannot stress enough, about getting a facial. They can be a little intimidating at first, but once you understand the process, and experience the treatment, you won’t be able to get them enough.
Here are a few reasons I feel it’s important:
- When you get a facial you are getting a massage on the face. This aids in lymphatic drainage and helps with circulation. It will also help tighten some facial muscles. This is also very relaxing, which can help with stress.
- It removes impurities that get embedded in the pores, that can clog and cause inflamed and irritated pimples, or pore congestion. You know, the blackheads, white heads, and huge pimples, that you DO NOT want on your face.
- You get a customized treatment for you, with a Mask that will restore and nourish your skin, giving you that Hollywood glow.
- Who doesn’t like to be pampered! This will be YOUR time to relax. Some of my clients go to sleep… this is allowed. 😉
